Aside from it taking longer it's also much more frustrating to troubleshoot things that aren't working. The think the software is always arguably worse. Never have I realized how much time I had to spend to set up a new PC (to the level of completion that I can use it as my daily driver) installing games (this takes most drive space but is surprisingly the easiest).migrating all my personal files and figure out the best drive/partition/folder structure because the new machine has less/more drives with different capacity than my old machine.for programming, installing IDE (with extensions) and setting up various libraries/dependencies, clone all the codebase, etc.attempting to manually carry over all settings for all kinds of software that often won't let you export their settings into a file to be imported into another machine.installing other common software that may be a bit "professional" (Photoshop, Acrobat Pro, etc.) without breaking the bank.Installing and activating Windows 10 Enterprise and Office Professional 2021 in way that doesn't break the bank, configure Windows, remove Windows bloatware/ads/telemetry/forced-update, etc.The routine stuff (BIOS update, firmware update, various drivers installation).I just realized how much stuff I need to do after putting all the hardware together.
